Conditionally Admitted Students

Conditionally Admitted BSN Students

Information and links below are for newly admitted BSN students for the most recent fall semester.

  • BSN New Student Orientation will be held the week of August 19-23, exact days TBD.  Attendance is mandatory.  Please save the date and clear your calendars of other conflicts.

More specific details will be provided very soon to all conditionally admitted students.

Please monitor your Bobcat email for communications from the admissions office.

  • The Immunization and Test Form will be provided to you when you are conditionally admitted. This form will list all immunizations and tests that are required for you to begin classes and remain in compliance within the clinical setting. Please read each immunization task carefully. You will be required to upload documentation into Clinical Students as you receive it. If what you submit does not suffice, Clinical Student will notify you that your submission is being rejected and the reasoning.

It is in your best interest to upload information into Clinical Student as soon as it is ready and available to provide ample time for review and time to upload documents if needed.

FYI: PLEASE DO NOT SEND IMMUNIZATION RECORDS TO US TO VERIFY VIA EMAIL.

This is your private medical record that should not be shared via email, and this is the exact reason we hire Clinical Student as a vendor to verify information for us in a secure manner.

  • You must complete your certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross. This certification MUST BE from an approved AHA instructor.

American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Course (2-year)

    OR

American Red Cross "CPR Professional Rescuer & AED for Healthcare Providers" card (two-year certification)

We will not accept cards from American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI), CPR Resources, Texas CPR Training, American CPR Training and any other cards other than those cards listed in the links above.

FYI: The statement, “Taught according to AHA guidelines” or similar variation will NOT suffice.

  • The School of Nursing requires you to have a personal laptop for in class exams. We do not allow tablets. We highly recommend that you follow the guidelines below when purchasing or securing a laptop. Following and adhering to these guidelines will result in a better classroom experience and will avoid potential mishaps and computer crashes during exams.

Students are encouraged to use the TXST Off-Campus Housing Market

  • Parking permits are optional but are required if you plan to bring your car and park on campus. The permit you would want to purchase would be the Commuter Purple pass that is acceptable in most areas within the parking lots. There is an option for Pay by Parking, which allows you to pay for your parking daily, but you will end up paying more for parking this way. You may also choose to carpool, walk, and/or ride the city bus. More information can be found on the Parking Services website below.
