FALL 2027 BSN NursingCAS Application Information & Recommendations

Admission Overview
The BSN program admits students once annually for fall entry and enrolls up to 150 students each year.
All applicants must:
- Complete all prerequisite coursework before beginning the program in Fall 2027.
- Meet all admission requirements at the time of application review.
- Submit a complete application by the applicable deadline.

Application Timeline
Priority Admission
- Application Opens: September 15, 2026
- Application Deadline: January 1, 2027
Applicants who meet Priority Admission criteria will receive early consideration for admission.
General Admission (Current Texas State Students)
- Application Opens: September 15, 2026
- Application Deadline: January 15, 2027
General Non-Current Admission (Transfer, Returning, and Inactive Students)
- Application Opens: September 15, 2026
- Application Deadline: March 15, 2027
Non-current applicants have an extended application period and should ensure all required documents are received by the applicable deadlines.

Admission Requirements
1. GPA Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum:
- 3.0 Nursing and Science Prerequisite GPA
For Priority Admission, applicants must have:
- 3.5 Science Prerequisite GPA or higher
2. ATI TEAS for Nursing Exam
Applicants must earn:
- Proficient Level (70% or higher)
For Priority Admission, applicants must earn:
- 85% overall score or higher
ATI Transcript Requirement
Official ATI TEAS transcripts must be sent directly to Texas State University and must include every testing attempt.
Please note:
- Official ATI transcripts are required for every testing attempt.
- Missing ATI TEAS transcripts will result in application disqualification.
- Self-reported scores will not be accepted.

3. Official College Transcripts
Applicants must submit official transcripts for all coursework not already reflected on their Texas State academic record.

Official transcripts must be received by Texas State Undergraduate Admissions no later than:

Submit a one-page professional resume highlighting relevant experiences such as:
- Leadership activities
- Community service
- Volunteer experiences
- Military service
- Employment history
- Healthcare-related experiences
5. Short-Answer Responses and Campus Preference
Applicants must complete all required short-answer responses and indicate their campus preference, when applicable.
Campus Eligibility
San Marcos Campus
Available only to current, actively enrolled Texas State University students.
Round Rock Campus
Available to all eligible applicants, including current, transfer, returning, and inactive students.

Important Academic Record Policies
Official Transcript Policy
Unofficial transcripts will not be accepted for application review.
All coursework must be officially evaluated and posted by Texas State Undergraduate Admissions before it can be considered during application review, including:
- Transfer coursework
- Dual credit coursework
- Advanced Placement (AP) credit
- International Baccalaureate (IB) credit
Courses not reflected on the Texas State academic record by the applicable deadline will be considered missing and may result in application disqualification.
AP and IB Credit
Applicants using AP or IB credit to satisfy prerequisite or core curriculum requirements should submit official scores to the Texas State Testing Center as early as possible to allow adequate time for evaluation and posting.
Applicants are responsible for verifying that all AP and IB credit appears on their official Texas State record before application review.
If AP or IB coursework required for admission is not reflected on the student's record at the time of review, the application may be considered incomplete and subject to disqualification.

GPA Verification Policy
All minimum GPA requirements must be met at the time of application review.
The School of Nursing does not consider:
- Projected GPAs
- Anticipated grades
- Future coursework intended to improve GPA eligibility after the application period
Applicants must qualify using coursework that has been completed and officially posted at the time of review.

Application Completion Requirements
Applications must be fully completed and submitted by:
11:59 p.m. Eastern Time (10:59 p.m. Central Time) on the applicable deadline date.
An application is considered complete only after:
- Submission of the application
- Successful payment processing
- Receipt of all official transcripts
- Receipt of all ATI TEAS transcripts
- Submission of all required supporting documents
- Completion of all required short-answer responses
Incomplete Applications
Incomplete applications will be automatically disqualified from consideration. No exceptions will be granted.
