BSN Admission Phases and Requirements

There are two phases of BSN Admission.  The application opens on September 15, 2026 for all applicants, but there are varying requirements and deadlines.  Please see chart below:

For active TXST students who meet the priority GPAs, TEAS scores and requirements below.For active students enrolled at TXST Spring 2027 or before.For transfer and inactive/returning students beginning Fall 2027.

  • NURS GPA: 3.0 minimum
  • SCI GPA: 3.5 minimum
  • TEAS Overall Score: Advanced 85% minimum
  • 3 of 5 sciences must be completed (and transcripts received) by January 1, 2027.
  • All prerequisites completed by end of Spring 2026. Students may have 18 hours MAXIMUM remaining to complete during Spring 2027. 
  • Winter courses will not be considered for this phase.
  • All AP/IB/Dual credit courses must be posted to the TXST record by January 1, 2027.
  • Application Deadline: December 15, 2026

 

  • NURS GPA : 3.0 minimum
  • SCI GPA: 3.0 minimum
  • TEAS Overall Score: Proficient 70% minimum
  • 3 of 5 sciences must be completed (and transcripts received) by January 15, 2027
  • All prerequisites completed by end of Summer 2027. Students may have 18 hours MAXIMUM remaining to complete during Spring and Summer 2027.
  • Winter courses will be accepted but must be posted to the TXST record no later than January 15, 2027.
  • All AP/IB/Dual credit courses must be posted to the TXST record by January 15, 2027.
  • Application Deadline: January 15, 2027

 

  • NURS GPA : 3.0 minimum
  • SCI GPA: 3.0 minimum
  • TEAS Overall Score: Proficient 70% minimum
  • 3 of 5 sciences must be completed (and transcripts received) by May 15, 2027
  • All prerequisites completed by end of Summer 2027
  • Must apply to TXST by Feb. 15, 2027, and be accepted to TXST and receive a student identification number (ie: A0XXXXXXX) to be eligible to apply. 
  • Proof of acceptance to TXST is required to be uploaded during application submission.
  • All AP/IB/Dual credit courses must be posted to the TXST record by March 15, 2027.
  • Application Deadline: March 15, 2027

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL APPLICANTS

1) Submission of an official ATI TEAS transcript to Texas State University San Marcos or Round Rock.

2) Submission of a resume that includes healthcare/life/military/work experience, if applicable. Resumes are optional but highly recommended as they supplement the holistic review.

3) Submission of ALL official transcripts for ALL coursework not on the TXST record. Official transcripts must be sent to TXST Undergraduate Admissions no later than:

  • Priority→ January 1, 2027
  • General→ January 15, 2027
  • Non-Current→ March 1, 2027

Notes: 

  • We will no longer be accepting unofficial transcripts. All courses must be officially evaluated by undergraduate admissions to be considered within the application submission. All courses, including AP/IB credits, not accounted for via unofficial transcripts will not be screened. 
  • Please ensure all core curriculum & BSN prerequisite courses are accounted for in your TXST record. Please ensure all official transcripts are posted to the TXST record by the appropriate phase deadlines. AP/IB credits can be sent to the TXST Testing Center. Courses not accounted for during the application review will be considered missing and will result in disqualification.
  • Please note that all required minimum GPAs must be met at the time of application review. We will not consider students who aspire to meet the minimum GPAs post spring or summer 2027.

4) Payment of $70 NURSINGCAS fee and $26.75 TXST supplemental application fee.
